SHARON POTTER - concentrates her practice in the area of Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning, Residential & Commercial Real Estate, Family & Civil Mediation, and General Civil Litigation. She joined the firm of Frantz, McConnell & Seymour, LLP in February 2006. Ms. Potter obtained her law degree from the University of Memphis [formerly Memphis State University] in 1985, after which she joined a law firm in South Carolina, where her practice focused on civil litigation. She returned to Knoxville and was admitted to the practice of law in Tennessee in 1987. Ms. Potter was born and raised in Crossville, Tennessee and prior to joining Frantz, McConnell & Seymour, LLP, she maintained a private practice in Crossville for fifteen years, where she concentrated on estate planning, civil litigation, and mediation. She has appeared before state and federal courts in middle and eastern Tennessee, including the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and is a Supreme Court Approved Rule 31 Family Mediator and Civil Mediator.

Ms. Potter is a member of the Tennessee Association for Justice [formerly Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association], Tennessee Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association. She served five years on the Board of Governors for the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and is a past president of both the Cumberland County Bar Association and the Upper Cumberland Trial Lawyers Association. She has been active as both a speaker and organizer of Continuing Legal Education programs for the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Upper Cumberland Trial Lawyers Association and the Tennessee Bar Association, and she served six years as a Hearing Committee Member for the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee.   She has been a member of the Knoxville Estate Planning Council since 2006.

In addition to her law practice, she is active in the community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Knoxville Rowing Association, and has been a Master Rower since 1998.
